WHEN SHOULD MY CHILD BRING THEIR DEVICE TO SCHOOL?
Please bring from Monday thanks.
It is important students establish routines of bringing their device to school and charging it at night. Some days students may not use them but as with any tool it needs to be on hand as they learn to integrate their device into their learning. If students don’t bring in their device some days, it could be on those days that an opportunity to use it could present itself and it isn’t at school. WHAT TYPES OF DEVICES? Ipads have been the most popular choice in younger grades. A range of chromebooks, windows and mac devices are being used across the school. SAFETY Students place devices straight into their tub in the morning. INTERNET Children will use a WIFI Network called PRIMARY SSO. Once we have configured the device, students login through the web browser using their CeNet password.
LABELING DEVICES Please ensure your child’s device is labelled.
CHARGING Devices travel to and from school unless special arrangements are made with Mr Butt in consultation with the class teacher.
STUDENTS OPTING OUT FOR NOW can use a school ipad or chromebook device (we estimate one device between two students in most grades).
PARENT ENQUIRIES Please direct any enquiries around BYOD to my email or you may find answers in the FAQ section of the BYOD website.
